Best forex copy trading brokers

Only 2 of the 20 brokers in our data list a copy trading account on the pages we collected: AvaTrade and Vantage. The list is short because the filter takes a published account type as proof, not a marketing banner.

Quick answer

Which broker is best for copy trading forex?

On this page’s rule, the first broker has the higher accounts score of the 2 copy trading brokers in our data. We have not tested either copy service. Copying moves your money into someone else’s strategy: their losses become yours, in proportion to the amount you allocate.

  1. Vantage’s international site onboards clients into an offshore VFSC company; UK and Australian residents are served by its FCA and ASIC entities.
  2. AvaTrade’s pages show conflicting retail loss rates (57% and 76%), so we show no figure for it until the entity and date are clear.
  3. Copying does not change leverage rules: the entity that holds your account sets the limit, 30:1 on major currency pairs for retail clients of Vantage’s FCA entity.

Closer look

One broker from this list, October 2026

Vantage has entities licensed by 2 Tier 1 regulators and offers copy trading as an account type, with MT4, MT5 and TradingView. The trade-off: third-party reports, not verified with the regulators, include a 2021 Securities Commission Malaysia investor alert and a 2022 VFSC notice of intention to revoke the licence of its offshore entity.

Not published

Before you copy a trader: four checks

The broker comes first, the trader you copy second.

  1. 1

Which entity holds the copied positions?

The copy service runs on your own account, so the entity behind that account decides leverage and protections. At Vantage, a UK resident is served by Vantage Global Prime LLP (FCA number 590299, as the broker publishes it); the international site uses the offshore VFSC company.

  2. 2

What happens when the trader you copy loses?

Your account takes the same loss in proportion to the amount you allocated. Where the entity offers negative balance protection, losses stop at your account balance; our data confirms it for Vantage’s FCA and ASIC entities, and does not confirm it for AvaTrade’s entities.

  3. 3

    What does copying cost?

Our data holds no published fee for either copy service, so we cannot compare them yet. Ask the entity for the copy service’s fee schedule and add it to the account’s own spread: Vantage publishes EUR/USD from 1.4 pips on its Standard STP account.

  4. 4

How much do you need to start?

Published minimum deposits: AvaTrade $100, Vantage $50. A copy service can set its own minimum per strategy on top.

How we rate brokers

Every rating here comes from documents the brokers publish, collected on 19 Oct 2026. We have not opened live accounts, so each score is marked preliminary.

  1. 1Collect published termsSpreads, commissions, minimum deposits, platforms and account types, each saved with its source page and date.
  2. 2List every entityEach licensed company of a brand, with the licence number the broker publishes. Matching those numbers on the regulators’ registers is still to do.
  3. 3Score four criteriaCosts, platforms, regulation and accounts, 0–10 each. Research and support stay unscored until we test them.
  4. 4Apply this page’s ruleA filter by published fact, then a sort by one criterion. The rule is printed above the ranking.
  5. 5Show what changes a recommendationClient-book sales, regulator orders and offshore-only onboarding are written on the broker’s card.

What this ranking is, and what it is not

A desk comparison of published terms; no broker pays us.

Who writes it

Each ranking is written and checked by the Low Spread Brokers team; the date the broker data was collected (19 Oct 2026) is printed at the foot of the page.

How we earn

At the moment we earn nothing from brokers: there are no affiliate or advertising agreements, and the buttons lead to the brokers’ official websites. Partner status is not an input to any score.

What we don’t do

No bonuses or sign-up offers, no offshore leverage presented as a benefit, no personal investment advice, and no claims of live-account tests we have not run.

Risk warning:

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford the high risk of losing your money.

FAQ

Copy trading questions

Questions traders search for about forex copy trading, answered from our broker data (collected 19 Oct 2026).

Ask us a question

Low Spread Brokers does not give personal investment advice.

1How does forex copy trading work?

You choose a trader or strategy and allocate part of your balance. Each trade they open is opened on your account in proportion to that allocation, and closed when they close it. The positions, costs and losses are yours and sit with the entity of your own account, for example Vantage Global Prime LLP for a UK client of Vantage.

Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026

2Can I lose more than I invest when copying?

You can lose all the money you allocate. Whether losses can exceed your balance depends on the entity: negative balance protection is confirmed in our data for Vantage’s FCA and ASIC entities, not for AvaTrade’s entities or Vantage’s offshore company.

Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026

3Is forex copy trading available in the UK?

Of the copy trading brokers in our data, Vantage has an FCA entity for UK residents; AvaTrade does not. Check that the copy service is offered by the FCA entity itself, not by an offshore company of the same brand.

Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026

4Can I copy trades on MT4 or MT5?

Every broker on this list offers MetaTrader (AvaTrade and Vantage). An MT4 trade copier is a separate tool that duplicates trades between your own accounts; it is not the same as a broker’s copy service.

Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026

5Does a strategy’s past performance predict its results?

No. A track record shows what happened under past market conditions and at the leverage the trader used then. Check the maximum drawdown and the leverage behind the returns, not only the headline gain. Our ranking of AvaTrade and Vantage does not score any strategy’s record.

Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026

6Why is eToro not on this list?

The account types we recorded from eToro’s pages on 19 Oct 2026 do not include a copy trading account, and the filter accepts only a published account type. eToro is ranked on the platforms and trading apps pages.
