How we make money

At the moment Low Spread Brokers earns nothing from brokers. We have no affiliate, referral or advertising agreements with any of the 20 brokers in our data, and no broker pays for a place on a list or for a click on its button. If we sign such an agreement, this page and the labels next to broker buttons will be updated before the first paid link goes live.

Where the broker buttons go

Every button that takes you to a broker goes through a short redirect at /go/ followed by the broker's name and lands on the broker's official website. The link carries no affiliate code and no parameter naming the page you clicked from. The label next to each button says the link goes to the official site and is not paid.

Under each button is the share of retail accounts that lose money with that broker's entity, as the entity publishes it, or the general CFD risk warning if no figure is published.

Referral programmes brokers run

On 19 October 2026, all 20 brokers in our data advertised an affiliate or introducing-broker programme on their own websites. We have not joined any of them. Such programmes usually pay in one of three ways, and one agreement can combine them:

  • A one-off fee for each new client who opens and funds an account (often called CPA).
  • A share of the spread and commission the broker earns from that client over time (revenue share).
  • A rebate per lot the client trades (introducing-broker rebate).

Under some introducing-broker (IB) deals the rebate is funded by a wider spread for the referred client. Before you open an account through any comparison site, ask the broker whether your spread and commission are the same as for a client who signs up directly.

What a future agreement could not change

  • The rating. It is calculated by a fixed formula from published facts: regulation, costs, platforms and accounts. Partner status is not one of the inputs (see How we rank forex brokers).
  • The order of a ranked list. Each list filters and sorts brokers by data. The rule format can put partners first, but no ranked list on the site uses that option.
  • Who appears. A broker that fails a page's filter, for example one that does not accept residents of the country the page is about, stays off the list.
  • Editorial flags. A regulator's action, a sale of a client book or a retail service offered only through an offshore entity stays on the page next to the broker.
  • Who writes the pages. Brokers do not see our pages before publication and do not edit them.
