Advertiser disclosure: we have no affiliate or advertising agreements with brokers, and no click to a broker is paid. If that changes, this notice changes first. How we make money
19 of the 20 brokers in our data run their own trading app or platform. We rank them by what one login opens: the minimum deposit and the account types in the broker’s published terms. We have not yet tested the broker apps themselves.
Low Spread Brokers does not give personal investment advice.
For traders who will mostly trade currencies from a phone. XM is not on this list: our data shows MetaTrader and TradingView there, but no own app. Read first:how we rankhow we make moneyeditorial policy
We cannot name a best app yet, because no broker app on this page has been tested by us. What this ranking puts first is the account behind the app: brokers at the top let you start with a small deposit and offer more account types (swap-free, raw, professional, demo). The table also shows which other apps (MetaTrader, cTrader, TradingView) the same account opens.
Find the entity name in the app’s legal footer and check it on the regulator’s register, such as the FCA or CySEC register: the app store listing does not tell you which company you sign with.
Plus500 charges a currency conversion fee of up to 0.7% of realised profit and loss under its UK user agreement.
eToro quotes forex spreads as a percentage of trade value (from 0.005% on EUR/USD), not in pips, so convert before you compare.

Why this order: only brokers with their own trading app or platform, sorted by our accounts score (minimum deposit plus swap-free, raw, professional and demo accounts named in the broker’s terms); the apps themselves are not tested yet. Closer look
One broker from this list, October 2026
IG has entities licensed by 8 Tier 1 regulators and offers its own app alongside MT4, MT5, TradingView, ProRealTime and L2 Dealer. The trade-off: IG does not publish licence numbers for several non-UK entities, including those under FINMA, MAS and DFSA, and says its entities outside the UK and EU do not carry UK or EU retail protections.
Which of its entities you get depends on where you live: rankings by country
Compare the company behind the app first: one brand can sign you up with an FCA, a CySEC or an offshore entity.
1
Which company will the app sign you up with?
The same app can open an account with different entities. Interactive Brokers clears and carries UK clients’ accounts through Interactive Brokers LLC in the US, where FSCS cover applies only in limited circumstances.
At 14 brokers here the account also works in MT4 or MT5. eToro, Interactive Brokers, Plus500 and XTB trade only in their own app, so a move to MetaTrader means a new broker.
Published minimums of 10 or less in the broker’s own currency: CMC Markets no minimum, IC Markets no minimum, IG £1, Interactive Brokers no minimum, OANDA no minimum, Pepperstone £10, Saxo no minimum, ThinkMarkets $10, XTB no minimum. The minimum depends on the entity and sometimes on the payment method.
Spread betting accounts with an FCA entity for UK residents appear in our data for CMC Markets, IG, Pepperstone, ThinkMarkets and Vantage. FXCM also lists spread betting, but new UK accounts now go to Trade Nation while FXCM sells its UK client book.
Every rating here comes from documents the brokers publish, collected on 19 Oct 2026. We have not opened live accounts, so each score is marked preliminary.
1Collect published termsSpreads, commissions, minimum deposits, platforms and account types, each saved with its source page and date.

A desk comparison of published terms; no broker pays us.
Who writes it
Each ranking is written and checked by the Low Spread Brokers team; the date the broker data was collected (19 Oct 2026) is printed at the foot of the page.
At the moment we earn nothing from brokers: there are no affiliate or advertising agreements, and the buttons lead to the brokers’ official websites. Partner status is not an input to any score.
What we don’t do
No bonuses or sign-up offers, no offshore leverage presented as a benefit, no personal investment advice, and no claims of live-account tests we have not run.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford the high risk of losing your money.

1Is it safe to trade forex on a phone?
Safety depends on the company behind the app, not on the device. Check the entity name and licence number shown in the app against the regulator’s register (for UK residents, the FCA register) before you deposit, and switch on two-factor login if the app offers it.
Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026
2What is the best forex trading app in the UK?
Among brokers with an own app and an FCA entity for UK residents, the widest choice of apps on this page’s rule belongs to Pepperstone, FxPro and IG. We have not tested the apps themselves.
Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026
3Which forex apps also work with MetaTrader?
14 of the 19 brokers here let the same account trade in MT4 or MT5 as well as in their own app; eToro, Interactive Brokers, Plus500 and XTB do not.
Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026
4On which devices do broker apps run?
The own platforms in our data run on web, iOS and Android; MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView add desktop versions. Check that the app store publisher name matches the broker before you install.
Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026
5Have you tested these apps?
No. The ranking uses published broker data collected on 19 Oct 2026. When we test an app, the result and its date will appear on that broker’s card.
Answers checked against broker data collected 19 Oct 2026
6Why is XM not on this list?
Our data for XM lists MT4, MT5 and TradingView but no own app, so the filter for an own app leaves it out. XM appears on the MT4 and MT5 rankings.
